Matara Swami of Kataragama.
We first met in 1978, with Gamini, Cedric and Manik. Kataragama was a gentler place back then, not as crowded or as 'developed' as it is now. Memories of happy days and nights spent on the rock beside his small cave and home a few miles away from the main shrine.
This picture was taken in December 2008 on a visit to see him with Mohan. We met in town and drove to a tank closeby to get away from the crowds and heat of the dusty town.
